A soft, feminine scarf fit for the princess in your life, even if the princess is YOU! Patterns available for matching Jasmine Fingerless Mitts and Socks.
Materials: 1 or 2 – 50 gr balls
Mini-Mochi(195 yds/50 gm) [model shown in #108 Neptune]
Crystal Palace Bamboo US 5 needles or size needed to obtain desired fabric cable needle tapestry needle
Finished Size: 4″ x 58″ from one ball blocked hard.
Notes: Sample scarf was knit with one ball of Mini-Mochi. I personally would not block the scarf as much as I like the ruffled ends.
Abbreviations: LT (left twist): slip 1 to Cable Needle (CN), hold in front, k1 tbl, k1 tbl from CN. k3tog: knit 3 together (hint: knit 2 together, slip stitch back to LNH, slip 2nd st over first st) yo: yarn-over tbl: through back loop k3tog, tbl: knit 3 together through back loops (hint: slip 1, as if to knit, knit 2 together through back loop, pass slipped stitch over) RTp (right twist, purl): slip 1 to CN, hold in back, k1 tbl, p1 from CN. LTp ( left twist, purl): slip 1 to CN hold in front, p1, k1 tbl from CN. C6B (Cable 3 over 3, right): Slip next 3 sts onto cable needle, hold in back, k3 from LHN, then k3 from cable needle. C6F (Cable 3 over 3, left) : Slip next 3 sts onto cable needle, hold in front, k3 from LHN, then k3 from cable needle.

Row 2 (wrong side): k1, p2 tbl, k2, p7, k1, p1 tbl, k1, p7, k2, p2 tlb, k1. Row 3: RTp, LTp, p1, k2, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, k1, p1, k1 tbl, p1, k1, yo, k1, yo, k3tog tbl, k2, p1, RTp, LTp, Row 4: p1 tbl, k2, p1 tbl, k1, p7, k1, p1 tbl, k1, p7, p1 tbl, k2, p1 tbl. Row 5: LTp, RTp, p1, k1, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, k2, p1, k1 tbl, p1, k2, yo, k1, yo k3tog tbl, k1, p1, LTp, RTp. Instructions:
Picot cast-on: *Using the knitted cast-on, cast-on 6 sts; bind off 2 sts (one picot made). Repeat from * until there are 7 picots. Cast-on 3 more sts. 31 sts. Knit 7 rows.
Set-up row: k3, p2 tbl, k2, p7, k1, p1 tbl, k1, p7, k2, p2 tbl, k3. Begin lace pattern, always knitting the first 2 sts and last 2 sts for a garter stitch border. Work until scarf is desired length, ending on row 12.
Set-up row: k2, p1, LT, p2, k7, p1, k1 tbl, p1, k7, p2, LT, p1, k2. Knit 6 rows. Picot bind-off (right side): Bind off 3 sts. Slip stitch from RHN back to LHN. Using the knitted cast-on, cast-on 2 sts; bind off 2 sts (one picot made). Bind off 4 sts, make picot. Repeat until there are 7 picots. Bind off remaining stitches. Weave in ends. Block lightly, if you want the ends of the scarf to slightly ruffle. Block more, if you prefer a “squarer” look. Thanks to Adrienne Fong for a beautiful pattern!
